Rob Acord enters his first year as an assistant coach for LSU Eunice men’s basketball.
Prior to joining the Bengals, coach Acord has spent the last three years as a high school coach. Acord was an assistant at Hathaway high school for the 2017-2018 season, helping the Hornets to a 26-5 record, District 6-B championship and LHSAA Class B Quarterfinals appearance.
Acord first jumped into the coaching profession by serving two years as an assistant at St. Louis Catholic High in Lake Charles, La. The Saints captured consecutive district championships and made a 2016 Class 3A “Top 28” appearance.
He brings a wealth of knowledge to the Bengals as a dedicated professional with experience in business operations, marketing and sales.
Prior to coaching, Rob founded an event services company, recruited a Board of Directors and advisory committee comprising industry and functional experts. Rob also worked in the Houston Astros organization for five years in sales, selling more than a million dollars’ worth of revenue on a yearly basis.
Coach Acord was born and raised in the basketball hotbed of Marion, Indiana. Acord played for state powerhouse Marion High with NBA star Zach Randolph, helping the Giants to the 1998 Indiana Class 4A Championship game. His father, Rob, also helped Marion to the state finals as they are one of three father and son combinations to play in an Indiana State Championship game.
Acord is a graduate of McNeese State University.
