Brock Ogami

LSU Eunice hired Brock Ogami as the second head coach of the women’s soccer program in June 2022.  Ogami comes to the Cajun Prairie after three seasons as the head coach of the women’s team at Spokane Community College in Washington.

“Coach Ogami was a standout candidate among a talented field of applicants because of not only his resume, but his approach to the coaching profession,” LSU Eunice athletic director Jeff Willis said.  “He understands what it takes to build a championship level team both on and off the field.”

Ogami spent eight years with Spokane CC, serving the first five as an assistant before taking over the Sasquatch in 2019.  Spokane CC qualified for the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) playoffs in each of his three years at the helm.  The Sasquatch saw six student-athletes earn an All-Star Game selection including four in his first season.

SCC posted a 23-10-8 record under Ogami with an impressive +49 goal differential in that span.

“I am incredibly excited and humbled by this opportunity to become a part of the LSU Eunice community,” LSU Eunice women’s soccer head coach Brock Ogami said.  “There is a real culture of excellence here, and I look forward to continue to build a national contender in women’s soccer at LSUE.”

As an assistant at SCC, Ogami worked under legendary coach Jim Martinson for five years.  The pair captured four NWAC East Region titles and a NWAC Championship in 2015.

“My coaching philosophy is simple – we want our young women to bring energy to everything they do as student-athletes,” Ogami said.  “Passion is contagious and whether it is in training, meetings, workouts and especially the classroom, our goal is to have our team bring a high amount of energy into everything they do.”

He maintains a United State Soccer Federation (USSF) class “C” license as well as an NSCAA (United Soccer Coaches) Premier Diploma.

Ogami began his career as the head coach at Meridian High School (Idaho) for two seasons, before joining the staff at Spokane Community College.

The Boise, Idaho native played collegiately at Walla Walla Community College (Junior College) and Northwest Nazarene University (NCAA Division II).  Ogami was selected to the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) All-Star team while at Walla Walla and was an All-Conference selection at NNU.

Ogami was a standout prep athlete at Borah High School (Idaho), earning first-team All-State honors in Class 5A while helping lead his team to three consecutive state championship game appearances.  He played club for the Boise Nationals, winning five State Cup Championships.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Sports Management from Northwest Nazarene University and a Master of Physical Education in Athletic Administration from Idaho State University.
