Thomas Kobetz enters his first year on the Bengals’ soccer coaching staff. Kobetz will serve as an assistant on both the men’s and women’s teams, helping in all training aspects with a focus on goalkeepers and video breakdown.
Kobetz comes to LSUE after assisting on the staff of his high school alma mater, University Lab, helping guide the Cubs to the 2019 LHSAA Division III Boys Soccer State Championship. In addition to serving on the staff at University Lab, Kobetz has been a coach with Baton Rouge Soccer Association for three seasons (2017-19).
The Baton Rouge, La. native played two years at the University of West Florida after a standout prep career at University Lab. Kobetz was named the LSCA Division III Offensive MVP and “Baton Rouge Advocate” All-Metro MVP his senior season.
Kobetz is currently enrolled at LSU, majoring in sports administration with minors in French and business. He currently holds FA Level 1 Talent Identification License, PFSA Level 1 Talent Identification License and USSF Grassroots Coach License.
