Dani Leal

Dani Leal begins her first year as Assistant Softball Coach at LSU Eunice for the 2012-2013 school year, having been hired in August 2012.

Her duties as an assistant coach will range from administrative work to recruiting in addition to coaching.

She comes to LSU Eunice after graduating with her degree in General Studies from Baylor University in May 2012.

Leal spent the 2012 season as a Student-Assistant Coach on the Baylor staff after a distinguished two-year playing career as a Lady Bear from 2010-2011.

At Baylor, she was a 2011 third-team All-American as well as second-team All-Region and first-team All-Big 12 selection after guiding Baylor to its second Women's College World Series appearance. A starting shortstop for two seasons, Leal left ranked sixth on BU's all-time home run list.

Prior to Baylor, Leal played two years at Pratt (Kan.) Community College where she was an all-conference selection.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, Leal was a two-year member of the Mexican National team from 2005 to 2006.
