Forrest Bass enters his first year as part of the LSU Eunice Softball coaching staff, joining the program in August 2026.
Bass comes to LSU Eunice after spending the last two seasons as the head coach of Negreet High School’s baseball team, where in 2026 he led the Indians to their first postseason appearance in more than a decade. During that time, Bass was also on the staff of the Bayou Thunder Softball team, an 18U organization.
A native of Hampton, Georgia, Bass was a three-time state champion at Faith Christian Academy before playing collegiately at Brewton-Parker College. He was a Spring Training participant for the Rome Braves, the Class-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, in 2009 before a knee injury ended his pursuit of professional baseball.
Bass is a military veteran, having served five years in the United States Army in Military Police and Explosive Ordinance Disposal roles. He has also served as a local firefighter at England Airpark in Alexandria, Louisiana and Spalding County Fire Department in Griffin, Georgia.
