Raven Cole is in her first year as assistant coach with the LSU Eunice softball team. The former Lady Bengal is in charge of pitchers and assists with hitters.
Cole played at LSUE from 2013-2015 where she helped the Bengals capture their third national championship in 2014.
Cole is a graduate of the University of North Alabama, where she played her junior and senior seasons. During her junior year, Cole and the 2016 UNA Lions went 60-7 and won the 2016 Gulf South Conference regular season and tournament championships. UNA also won its first-ever NCAA South Region title, taking the South 1 Regional and the Super Regional on consecutive weeks to advance to the NCAA Division II Women's College World Series in Denver, Colorado. The Lions went 5-1 during the World Series, defeated Humboldt State twice to capture the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship. Cole posted a 25-3 record with a 2.24 ERA for UNA in 2016. She was a first team All-Gulf South Conference selection after finishing the regular season as the league's only pitcher to go undefeated in GSC games. Cole was named to the 2016 GSC all-tournament team, and was also a second team All-South Region selection by D2CCA.
Prior to the University of North Alabama, Cole played two seasons for LSU Eunice. During her years as a Lady Bengal, Cole led the team in several pitching categories and still holds records in strike outs, ERA, wins and shutouts. Cole was named NJCAA National Pitcher of the Year in 2014. She was the first National Pitcher and first National Player of the Year in the LSUE softball program's history. Cole also was voted first-team All-American pitcher for the NJCAA and NFCA in 2014 and a first-team All-American by the NFCA and second-team selection by the NJCAA in 2015.
Cole attended Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas. She received her Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of North Alabama in Florence, AL.
