Sierra Easterwood enters her first season on the LSU Eunice Softball Coaching Staff, joining the Bengals in August 2023.
The former NCAA Division II All-American joins LSUE after a year on the Plains, serving as a graduate assistant at Auburn University. The Tigers finished the season ranked 17th nationally with a 43-19 record, finishing as runner-up at the Clemson Regional.
Prior to coaching, Easterwood was a standout for the University of Montevallo. She was named the University of Montevallo Female Athlete of the Year as well as a NFCA NCAA Division II third-team All-American after one of the most dominant offensive seasons at the university. Easterwood led the Falcons in 2022, batting .395, with a slugging percentage of .901. She was at the top of the list in nearly every offensive category, leading in runs scored, hits, RBIs, doubles, triples and home runs.
Her 20 home runs set a new school record for a single season. She also concluded her career as the Falcons all-time career home run leader with 31. Easterwood finished the season as the league leader in slugging, runs scored (52), RBI (59), and home runs. She was also sixth among GSC leaders in hits (64) and seventh-overall in batting average.
Before her time at the University of Montevallo, Easterwood spent two years at Central Alabama Community College. She would was a two-time All-Region selection while earning NJCAA third-team All-American honors in 2019.
In addition to her prowess on the field, Easterwood shined in the classroom as a Dean’s List recipient at both Central Alabama CC and the University of Montevallo.
A Cullman, Alabama native, Easterwood earned an Associates of Science from Central Alabama Community College, a Bachelor’s of Psychology from the University of Montevallo and a Masters of Exercise Science (non-thesis) with a concentration of Motor Behavior at Auburn University.
