Sim Burton

Simeon “Sim” Burton enters second season on the LSU Eunice Women’s Basketball staff and his first in a full-time capacity.  Burton joined in a volunteer capacity ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
 
Burton helped the Bengals capture a fourth consecutive LCCAC regular season championship as well as reach the Region 23 Tournament Semifinals for a second straight season.  In addition to his duties with the Bengals, Burton was on the staff at Pine Prairie High School.  The Panthers reached 2021 Class 3A Regional Round.
 
Prior to his move to the Cajun Prairie, The Houston, TX native was a student assistant coach for Sam Houston State Women’s Basketball.  He was part of the staff for three years where he helped produce a 12-game win improvement during the 2018-19 campaign.
 
In his playing career, Burton was a standout performer for C.E. King High School, leading his team to the Texas State Semifinals during the 2014-15 season.  He would go on to play a season at Concordia University before transferring to Sam Houston State to begin his coaching career.
 
Burton holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Sam Houston State University in Interdisciplinary Students with a minor in Early Childhood Education.
