Offense Explodes In Runaway Win vs. SWCC

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice used a balanced effort for a run away win 92-71 against Southwestern Christian.  It's the Bengals' 6th win in November, the most in one month under head coach Amanda Clemons.

The Bengals (6-2) were ahead wire-to-wire after LSUE jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead.  Bethany Broussard (Iowa HS) and Whitney Landry (Iota HS) both came off the bench to provide baskets in that early run.  The reserves again played a pivotal role, scoring 47 points.

Rylie James (Basile HS) helped pace LSUE early with 11 first half points, pushing the Bengals to a 47-34 lead into the locker rooms.

After intermission, the Bengals delivered the knockout blow with a 14-0 run after intermission to stretch their lead to 63-34.  Arianna Dargin (Iowa HS) nearly outscored Southwestern Christian alone in the third quarter.   Dargin bucketed 8 of her game-high 21 points in the third quarter to the Rams' 10 as LSUE swelled its lead to 71-44 going into the final frame.

The Bengals enjoyed arguably their most efficient game of the season.  LSUE shot 41-for-81 from the field (50.6 %) with 23 assists, while five players recorded double-digit points.

The two teams will face off again tomorrow inside the HPRE Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00PM
