EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice used a balanced effort for a run away win 92-71 against Southwestern Christian. It's the Bengals' 6
th win in November, the most in one month under head coach Amanda Clemons.
The Bengals (6-2) were ahead wire-to-wire after LSUE jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead.
Bethany Broussard (Iowa HS) and
Whitney Landry (Iota HS) both came off the bench to provide baskets in that early run. The reserves again played a pivotal role, scoring 47 points.
Rylie James (Basile HS) helped pace LSUE early with 11 first half points, pushing the Bengals to a 47-34 lead into the locker rooms.
After intermission, the Bengals delivered the knockout blow with a 14-0 run after intermission to stretch their lead to 63-34.
Arianna Dargin (Iowa HS) nearly outscored Southwestern Christian alone in the third quarter. Dargin bucketed 8 of her game-high 21 points in the third quarter to the Rams' 10 as LSUE swelled its lead to 71-44 going into the final frame.
The Bengals enjoyed arguably their most efficient game of the season. LSUE shot 41-for-81 from the field (50.6 %) with 23 assists, while five players recorded double-digit points.
The two teams will face off again tomorrow inside the HPRE Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00PM
