EUNICE, La. - LSU Eunice sophomore
Rylie James (Basile HS) poured in a season's best 27 points as the Bengals blew out Southwestern Christian for a second straight night, 94-66. The win is the Bengals' fourth in a row, now the longest win streak under Amanda Clemons.
LSU Eunice used a pivotal 17-4 run late in the 2
nd quarter to stretch its lead to 51-27 at the halftime break. James scored 7 of the team's 17 points in that span.
The Bengals dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Rams 62-25 including 29 offensive boards. James pulled in 10 rebounds to complete her first double-double of the season.
Arianna Dargin (Iowa HS) chipped in 17 points off the bench while
Jaleya Gold (Bolton HS) added 8 points and 13 rebounds.
As it has been the case during LSUE's four game win streak, the Bengals stormed out of the locker rooms with a big run to separate even more. A quick 12-2 run to start the third quarter expanded LSUE's lead to 34 points, 63-29. The duo of James and Dargin accounted for 16 of the team's 22 points in the third quarter.
Whitney Landry (Iota HS) and
Tachiana Ledet (Northside HS) both recorded their first starts with LSU Eunice. Landry recorded 9 points and 7 rebounds while Ledet added 5 points and 2 steals.
