EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice pounded 11 runs in the first two innings to help blow past Nunez CC 15-2 in the first of a three-game series.  The Bengals were led by Slate Fuller's four-hit, 3 RBI game.
 
LSUE (48-5) put the Pelicans up against the wall early, loading the bases with one out to start the game.  Slate Fuller began the damage with a two-run double and was followed by three consecutive at-bats that produced runs.  Jacob Richard capped off that mini-run with a towering two-run home run to deep leftfield to make it a 6-0 game.  It was the Teurlings Catholic HS product's first home run of the season.
 
The Bengals followed with a five-run second inning highlighted by Cameron Horton's two run double.  Mason Templet, Mixon and Koi Westbrook also brought home runs during the frame.
 
That was more than enough for LSUE starter Brian Fairbanks.  The redshirt freshman fanned seven batters over four innings pitched, scattering two runs off four hits and a walk.  Noah Beason, Jacob Spell and Andrew Lowe all tossed a perfect inning each, with Beason striking out all three batters he faced.
 
After LSUE scored two runs in the third inning, the Bengals plated two more in the fifth capped off by Slate Fuller's no-doubt solo home run to left field to end the scoring at 15-2.
 
Fuller was one of three Bengals to have multi-hit games, joined by Hayden Mixon and Cameron Horton.  The Barbe HS product also scored three runs to lead LSUE in that category as well.
