BRENHAM, Texas -  No. 5 LSU Eunice finished the regular season unbeaten on the road after taking a 3-2 decision at Blinn College on Wednesday.  The Bengals (14-1) enter the postseason on an eleven-game win streak.
 
Igor Castillo-Veliz (Baton Rouge, LA, Woodlawn HS) would go on to net the game winner with a 65th minute goal to push LSUE ahead 3-1.  The sophomore smashed in the goal off a beautiful cross from Jamison Angelle (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS) from the left side.  Enzo Bodin (Léhon, France, Les Cordeliers) was also credited with an assist in the build up.
 
Blinn would make LSUE sweat late with an 84th minute tally to get within 3-2, one of two second half goals for the Bucs. 
 
After gridlock early in the game, Albert Ibrahimi (Shipley, England, Shipley College) put LSUE on the board first with an easy back post rebound off a Noah Wagner (Corpus Christi, TX, Veterans Memorial HS) attempt in the 27th minute.  Tanner LaPorte (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS) would tally his first of the season on a 47th minute set piece to push the LSUE lead to 2-0.
 
Zaykeese Smith (Charlestown, St. Kitts & Nevis, Charlestown Secondary School) and Christian Carrillo (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS) would combine to fend off six saves on eight shots on goal to pick up the win.
 
LSU Eunice now turns its attention to the Region 23 Championship on Friday, November 1 at the Bengals Soccer Complex.  LSUE will play the winner of this weekend's MACJC State Championship at 7:00PM next week. 
 
The winner of the Region 23 Championship will face the Region 14 winner in the South District Play-off.
