NEW ORLEANS, La. – The reserve duo of
Josie Ogea (Big Lake, LA, Bell City HS) and
Deja Tanks (Lake Charles, LA, LaGrange HS) scored nearly half of LSU Eunice Women's Basketball points as the Bengals blew past Delgado CC 67-37 on Wednesday at the Williamson Center.  The Bengals (11-9, 4-1 LCCAC) saw their bench outscore the Dolphins 41-2 in the rout.

Ogea continued her stellar play of late, scoring a career-high 21 points including 5-for-10 from three-point range.  Her three-pointer late in the second quarter triggered a 13-0 run to close the half and send the Bengals into the locker room up 35-20.

The freshman would turn it on the fourth quarter, helping the Bengals close out the game with 10 points including two buckets from long-range.

Tanks, meanwhile, tallied a double-double off the bench, recording 10 points and 10 rebounds.  She combined with 10 boards from
Vanessa Duhe (Lacassine, LA, Lacassine HS) to help LSUE dominate the glass, 44-29.  The well-rounded effort saw every Bengal that dressed score at least a field goal.

The LSUE defense would smother Delgado in the second half, holding the Dolphins to just 7-for-27 shooting (25.9%) after intermission.

LSU Eunice returns home on Saturday for a date against Southern-Shreveport.  The action from the HPRE Center starts at 2:00PM and can be seen on the LSUE Digital Network presented by Opelousas General Health.
