Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball ran its LCCAC win streak to five games after a 69-65 victory over Southern-Shreveport on Saturday at the HPRE Center. LSUE (12-9 overall, 5-1 LCCAC) used a big first quarter to hold on for the wire-to-wire decision.
LSUE came out on fire with a 15-2 with
Trinity Harold (Denham Springs, LA, Walker HS) scoring six of her 12 points in that span. The Bengals outscored the Jaguars 24-9 in the quarter, taking a 37-25 lead into intermission.
Despite the big edge early, Southern-Shreveport would chip away, cutting the lead down to four with under two minutes to play. LSUE would play the free throw game and hold on for its 15th straight win over the Jaguars.
A balanced effort offensive, LSUE saw every rostered player record at least a field goal, led by 13 points from
Vanessa Duhe (Lacassine, LA, Lacassine HS).
Tahjea Smith (Texas City, TX, Texas City HS) led the Bengals on the glass with 11 rebounds as LSUE won the margin on the glass 45-41.
The Bengals hit the road for a two-game swing starting Wednesday with a critical game against Baton Rouge CC. LSUE and BRCC are tied atop the LCCAC standings with this the rubber match between the two sides. Tip-off from Baton Rouge is set for 5:30PM.
