EUNICE, La. – The LSU Eunice Athletic Department inducted the 2008 NJCAA National Championship Baseball Team into its Hall of Fame at its annual Gala this weekend.  The Gala is the department's annual fundraiser dinner that gives the local community an opportunity to meet this year's LSUE athletic teams in addition to honoring its Hall of Fame inductees.
 
"The Gala weekend is always one of the most exciting events of the year as we get to celebrate our athletic teams with the entire LSUE community," LSU Eunice Athletic Director Jeff Willis said.  "We are so thankful for our friends and supporters that continue to make this an amazing evening."
 
A cocktail hour with appetizers started the evening, followed by a buffet-style dinner.  Patrons were welcomed by LSU Eunice Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson, Louisiana Speaker of the House Clay Schexnayder as well as Louisiana State Representative Phillip Devillier.   Guests were also able to bid on numerous items in a silent and live auction.
 
The evening concluded with the induction of the 2008 team into the Hall of Fame with a certificate presentation.  The team joins Curtis Joubert, Dr. Stephen Guempel, two-time All-American Kenny Plaisance and the 2006 NJCAA National Championship Baseball team in the LSUE Hall of Fame.
 
All proceeds of the night go directly to LSU Eunice athletics.
