EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball used a quick strike offense to cruise past Centenary College JV 12-1 on Wednesday at Shehee Stadium.  The Bengals (34-2) won in run-rule fashion for the 19th time this season.
 
LSUE pounced for five runs in the opening inning as the Bengals big bats roared.  Weston Fulk (Ankeny, IA, Ankeny HS) drove in a pair of runs followed by a massive three-run home run off the bat of Collin Husser (Ponchatoula, LA, Ponchatoula HS).
 
Husser continued his recent surge at the plate, going 2-for-2 with five RBIs and a run scored.  He was one of four Bengals to have a multi-hit game. 
 
LSUE added three more in the second inning and a pair of runs in the third to jump out to a 10-0 lead.  Evan Joubert (Lake Charles, LA, St. Louis Catholic HS) doubled home a run and then scored off stealing home on a first-and-third situation in the third inning.  Joubert would steal three bases in the game.
 
Tyson LeBlanc (Maurice, LA, North Vermilion HS) and Reuben Williams (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS) capped off the scoring with RBI base hits in the fifth and sixth innings.
 
The Bengal pitching staff enjoyed another dominant outing on the mound as five LSUE arms combined for 11 strikeouts.  Owen Schexnaydre (Houma, LA, Vandebilt Catholic HS) was credited with the win after tossing two innings of one-hit relief while striking out three batters.
 
LSUE is set for a big weekend as it welcomes Division I No. 17 Delgado CC to town for the start of the two in-state powers' annual series.  The action kicks off Saturday with a 3:00PM doubleheader from Bengal Stadium.
