Bengal Basketball Opens Up 2025-26 Season This Weekend

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball opens the 2025-26 regular season on Saturday against Wiley University JV, the first of 16 home games set for the Bengals' campaign.  LSUE is in its second year under the direction of head coach Rob Beckmann.

The Bengals will open the year with a pair of games at the HPRE Center, including a November 2 date vs. South Arkansas College, before embarking on an eight-game road swing which includes tournament trips SAU Tech and Southwest Mississippi CC.  LSUE returns home on November 20 for the start of the inaugural Eunice Classic, featuring games against Coastal Bend on November 20 and preseason nationally ranked McLennan CC on November 21.

LSUE spends the rest of its non-conference slate at home in December and January, part of a nine-game homestand.  Those games include the Eunice Classic, North American University (Dec. 2), Copiah-Lincoln CC (Dec. 4), Trinity Valley CC (Dec. 6), Panola College (Dec. 10), Wiley University JV (Dec. 12), Jones College (Jan. 8) and Southwest Mississippi (Jan. 12).

The Bengals will then begin conference play on January 28th with a road date at Delgado CC.  The Bengals will play three rounds of action against Delgado, Baton Rouge CC, and Southern-Shreveport for the nine-game LCCAC slate.  LSUE's home conference games are set for January 31 (Baton Rouge), February 4 (SU-Shreveport), February 7 (Delgado), February 21 (Baton Rouge), and February 25 (SU-Shreveport).

The Bengals captured the Louisiana Community Colleges Athletic Conference (LCCAC) regular season championship in Beckmann's first season on campus, while also recording the program's first postseason win in three years.

LSUE welcomes back reigning LCCAC Player of the Year Kamiera McDonald (Baton Rouge, LA, Scotlandville HS) after averaging 15.3 points a season ago.  Along with McDonald, the other returnee to this year's team is sophomore point guard Izabella Henry (Hornbeck, LA, Anacoco HS).
