EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball capped off an impressive first week of conference play with a 77-51 victory over Delgado CC on Saturday at the HPRE Center. The Bengals (13-9, 2-0 LCCAC) share the early LCCAC with Baton Rouge CC after both teams went unbeaten during opening week.

LSUE would go wire-to-wire against the Dolphins, jumping out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter. In fact, the Bengals would start and finish the game on a high note – scoring 20-plus points and limiting Delgado to single digits in each frame.
It was another big offensive night for
Mariah Heard (Bastrop, LA, Bastrop HS). The freshman wing poured in a game-high 29 points, 20 of each came in those first and fourth quarters. She was joined by
Markiyah Jefferson (Baton Rouge, LA, Liberty HS) as double-digit scorers as Jefferson tallied 13 points on the night.
The victory continues a hot January for LSU Eunice as the Bengals push their current win streak to seven games.
