EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball continued its winning ways with a 91-62 decision over Southern-Shreveport on Saturday at the HPRE Center.  The Bengals (15-9, 4-0 LCCAC) moved their current win streak to nine games, while staying unbeaten in conference play as LSUE's nears the halfway mark of the conference calendar.
 
The Bengals would use strong starts to each half to control the game for start to finish.  In the first quarter, LSUE held an 11-8 lead midway through the frame before pushing its advantage to 11 points, 25-14. 
 
The third quarter saw LSUE outscore Southern-Shreveport 30-17 to push the Bengals' lead to more than 20 points. 
 
The defense would once again play a big role, forcing 20 steals in the game.  The team approach was also prevalent on the offensive end as 27 of LSUE's 36 field goals were assisted.  
Ray'Onna Sterling (Vacherie, LA, Walker HS) recorded 10 assists, coming just shy of a triple-double after pouring in 12 points.
 
Mariah Heard (Bastrop, LA, Bastrop HS) led the Bengals with 25 points while snagging seven rebounds.  
Izabella Henry (Hornbeck, LA, Anacoco HS) and 
Kamiera McDonald (Baton Rouge, LA, Scotlandville HS) also netted double-digit point games, scoring 12 and 16 respectively.
 
LSUE continues conference play on Wednesday with a home date against Baton Rouge CC.  The action from the HPRE Center gets underway at 6:00PM.
