Offense Keeps Rolling In Run-Rule At Bossier Parish

BOSSIER CITY, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball took its offensive firepower on the road for the first time this season, leaving Bossier Parish CC with a 22-11 run-rule win on Wednesday.  The fourth-ranked Bengals (23-1) its first Division I ranked victory of the year, cruising past the No. 24 Cavaliers.

The Bengals connected on 20 hits in the shortened game, the second time in two weeks LSUE has produced 20-plus hits.

LSUE went right to work to open the game, scoring five runs in the first inning.  Tyson LeBlanc (Maurice, LA, North Vermilion HS) highlighted the early fireworks, launching a two-run home run – part of a four-hit game for the sophomore co-captain.

It looked like it'd be a close contest for most of the game as LSUE clung to a 6-4 lead heading into the fifth inning.  That's when the Bengals exploded for nine runs, all with two outs.  LeBlanc began the charge with a bases loaded two-run single, then helped Aidan Mouton (Rayne, LA, Notre Dame HS) score on an executed double steal on a first-and-third situation.  Milan Obradovich (Tuscaloosa, AL, Northridge HS) and Mason Bordelon (Marksville, LA, Avoyelles Charter HS) connected on back-to-back RBI singles before Ashton Fuselier (Lake Charles, LA, Sam Houston HS) launched a back breaking grand slam to left field, pushing the LSUE lead to 15-4.

Fuselier was one of six different Bengals to record multi-hit games, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.  LeBlanc and Jackson Legg (Shreveport, LA, Calvary Baptist HS) led with four hits each.

The hit parade wasn't over just yet with Alex Dupuy (Natchitoches, LA, Natchitoches Central HS) lifting a solo home run and Legg producing an RBI double.  The Bengals would get five more runs in the seventh, highlighted by a two run double from Legg.

Will Mabry, IV (St. Joseph, LA, Tensas Academy) received the win in the shootout, tossing 4.2 innings in the start.  Xavier Woods (Cleveland, TX, Cleveland HS) and McCray Jacobs (Johnson City, TX, Johnson City HS) also saw time on the mound.

LSU Eunice returns home this weekend for a three-game series against North Iowa Area CC.  The Friday opener from Bengal Stadium is set for 6:00PM.
