EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball landed five players on the 2025 Louisiana Sports Writers' Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Baseball Team, the organization announced on Friday. The five selections are the third most among all Louisiana institutions on this year's squad and the most for the Bengals since being included in the vote starting in 2019.
LSUE placed three on the second-team including shortstop
Tyson LeBlanc (Maurice, LA, North Vermilion HS), third base
Alex Dupuy (Natchitoches, LA, Natchitoches Central HS), and utility
Aidan Mouton (Rayne, LA, Notre Dame HS).
Jackson Legg (Shreveport, LA, Calvary Baptist HS) and
Alec Beversdorf (Seabrook, TX, Clear Falls HS)were both honorable mentions.
LeBlanc enjoyed another stellar season, starting in 57 of the team's 58 games at shortstop. The two-year every day starter led the LSUE offense in almost every offensive category – hits (80), runs batted in (65), runs (71), doubles (19), triples (5), home runs (11), stolen bases (39), and slugging percentage (.683). He enjoyed a team-high 24 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI contests while also producing a season-long 37-game streak of reaching base safely.
He leaves campus after rewriting much of the LSUE history books, finishing in the Top 10 of 12 separate offensive career categories. His 132 runs batted in eclipsed a 15-year old record set by Gabriel Thibodeaux in 2010.
Dupuy was LSUE's everyday third baseman before an injury cut his season short. Despite the missed time, the sophomore still finished top five on the team in eight major offensive categories. He would hit .387 in 43 games played, collecting 38 RBIs, 11 doubles, five triples, and four home runs while scoring 53 runs.
The Natchitoches Central HS product became the second LSUE player in history – and the second during the 2025 season – to hit for the cycle in a March 14 win vs. North Iowa Area CC. Dupuy scored six runs in that contest while driving in four runs. He also was a featured bullpen arm, making two key appearances in LSUE's postseason.
Mouton did a little bit of everything for the Bengals in 2025, playing in the outfield and third base while also seeing time on the mound. He finished tied for the team lead in home runs with 11 while pacing the Bengals with a .391 average. The redshirt freshman collected 23 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI game and produced a team-high 19-game hit streak that ran from February 21 to March 29.
The Notre Dame HS product became the team's closer down the stretch run of the season, earning four saves in nine appearances.
Beversdorf served as the Bengals' Friday night ace during the 2025 season, finishing with an 11-0 record – the fourth most wins in the entire nation. The right hander posted a 3.61 earned run average while tallying 83 strikeouts in 15 starts this season. He would allow one earned run or less in 11 of his 17 outings this season, tossing one complete game vs. SAU Tech.
For his LSUE career, Beversdorf is ranked eighth all-time in program history strikeouts with 173 while also finishing Top 10 in complete games (6) and shutouts (3) during his time on the Cajun Prairie.
Legg was a valuable power bat in the heart of the Bengals' lineup hitting at a .337 clip with 59 RBIs, 55 runs scored, and seven home runs.. The sophomore ranked third on the team with 18 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI contest including a pair of five RBIs outings. The first baseman recorded an on-base streak of 31 games during the season and his 48 walks ranked Top 20 in the NJCAA. He had a hand in 28 doubles plays turned during the 2025 season, committing just one error in 352 chances.
The major awards of the LSWA All-Louisiana team went to LSU's Jared Jones (Hitter of the Year), Kade Anderson (Pitcher of the Year), Anthony Eyanson (Newcomer of the Year), and Derek Curiel (Freshman of the Year). LSU Shreveport's Brad Neffendorf was named Coach of the Year.
LSUE went 53-5 during the 2025 campaign, eclipsing the 50-win plateau for a third straight season and the 13th time under head coach Jeff Willis. In their first year as a Division I institution, the Bengals would spend four weeks ranked as the number one team in the nation. Under head coach Jeff Willis, LSUE has spent at least one week ranked as the number one team in the nation in 18 of his 23 seasons.
