EUNICE, La. – For a second consecutive game, LSU Eunice Women's Basketball used a strong second quarter to propel past Baton Rouge CC 88-54 on Saturday at the HPRE Center. The Bengals (15-6, 2-0 LCCAC) outscored the Bears 32-13 in the deciding frame, building a 27-point halftime lead.
Kamiera McDonald (Baton Rouge, LA, Scotlandville HS) was the catalyst behind that second quarter burst, scoring all 15 of her points in the frame. She would connect on 3 three-point baskets to lead LSUE in that category.
Saidastiny Stewart (Baton Rouge, LA, Dulles HS (TX)) produced one of her best games of the season, leading the team in both points (17) and rebounds (8). She was joined by McDonald and
Reesie Jinks (Grant, LA, Fairview HS) with double digit point nights.
The LSUE defense held BRCC to just 21-for-61 shooting (34.4%) from the field while forcing 25 turnovers during the contest.
The Bengals close out the first round of LCCAC action on Wednesday with Southern-Shreveport coming to town for a 6:00PM start from the HPRE Center.
