Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Bengals Go Wire-to-Wire In Blowout of SU-Shreveport

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball closed out the first leg of conference play in style, running past Southern-Shreveport 108-61 on Wednesday inside the HPRE Center.  The Bengals (16-6, 3-0 LCCAC) scored a season-high for points and extended their current win streak to five games.

The Bengals put the game out of reach early in the second quarter, using a 14-0 run in the first half of the frame to push their advantage to 20-plus points.  Kamiera McDonald (Baton Rouge, LA, Scotlandville HS) led the charge in that pivotal quarter, scoring nine of her 15 points in the second.

LSUE scored 63 points in the first half alone, the most this season for the Bengals.

It was a total team effort in the victory with all but one player on the roster scoring in the game.  Erianna Ned (Opelousas, LA, J.S. Clark Leadership Academy) enjoyed a breakout game, scoring a team-high 17 points – a new career high for the freshman.  Edurne Diaz de la Serna Munoz (Ripollet, Spain, Institut Palau Ausit) also kicked in 17 points as the duo combined for 14 of the team's 20 points in the fourth quarter.

The Bengals close out their three-game conference homestand Saturday with Delgado CC in town.  Tip-off from the HPRE Center is set for 2:30PM.
