EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Baseball kept its hot bats rolling throughout the weekend, taking a 14-1 series finale against Monroe University on Sunday at Bengal Stadium. LSUE (10-1) swept the four-game set against the Mustangs, winning all games in run-rule fashion. The Bengals have induced the mercy rule in their last six games.
The Bengals plated four runs in the opening inning, headlined by a
Marshall Louque (Lutcher, LA, Lutcher HS) RBI double. LSUE added eight more runs an inning later, jump started by
Jordan Luna (Washington, LA, Opelousas Catholic HS) connecting on a two-run triple.
Milan Obradovich (Tuscaloosa, AL, Northridge HS) and Louque added base hit RBIs in the big inning.
LSUE capped the scoring in the third with two runs off a
Jake Smith (Rosepine, LA, Rosepine HS) RBI single and a wild pitch that allowed
Cooper Scott (Pineville, LA, Holy Savior Menard HS) to score.
Louque was the lone Bengal to notch a multi-hit game, while eight LSUE players had a hit in the win.
Four Bengals saw action on the mound with
David Goldapper (Parkland, FL, Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS) being credited with the win after 1.2 innings of work in relief.
