LSUE Picks Up Win Over Patrick Henry

EUNICE -- The LSU Eunice Lady Bengals opened its game against Patrick Henry College with a 15-2 run that set the pace for the rest of the game and helped them pick up their fourth win of the season.  The Lady Bengals defeated the Lady Patriots 92-85.

Patrick Henry came into Eunice undefeated on the year and averaging almost 80 points a game, but the Lady Bengals used strong defense shut down the Lady Patriots early.  Patrick Henry didn't score their second basket until nearly six minutes into the game, and LSUE's Becca Brooks quickly answered with a 3-pointer.  She finished the night with four 3-pointers.

Despite Patrick Henry outscoring the Lady Bengals 55-46 in the second half, LSUE' strong defensive showing was enough to give them the win.

Rylie James, who is 18th in the country in points scored and who is averaging 18.7 points a game, scored 30 tonight.

Brooks finished with 16 points, and Brianna Dixon had 15.  Sydney Hayden scored 12, including a pair of 3-pointers.

The Lady Bengals are now 4-8 on the season and will take a break during the Christmas holiday before hitting the road on January 2 against Bossier Parish.
