LSUE Women's Basketball Set For Challenging Slate In 26-27

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball will open up their 2026-2027 season this month with a strong schedule that features three games against nationally ranked teams from a year ago.  The Bengals kick off the campaign on October 30 at home against Jones College in the first of 13 home games at the HPRE Center.

LSU Eunice will play three preseason tuneups at home, beginning Wednesday, October 7 against Western Gulf College.  The Bengals also host LSU Shreveport (October 14) and Louisiana Christian (October 21) in exhibition action.

Rob Beckmann is back for his third year on the Cajun Prairie after being named LCCAC Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons.  Coach Beckmann led LSUE to consecutive 20-plus win seasons for the first time in nearly two decades and is off to the best head coaching start in program history.

Coach Beckmann and the Bengals will have a busy November slate including trips to Arkansas to face National Park College (November 4) and UA-Cossatot (November 5), Texas to take on Hill (November 13) and McLennan (November 14), and Mississippi to battle Copiah-Lincoln (November 16) and Southwest Mississippi (November 17).

LSUE welcomes perennial powers Florida Southwestern State (November 6) and Pearl River (November 10) to round out the opening month of action.

The Bengals close out non-conference slate with matchups against Region 23 opponents out of Mississippi including home-and-homes with Mississippi Gulf Coast (home-December 8) and Hinds (December 12) and return trips to Eunice against Copiah-Lincoln (December 5) and Southwest Mississippi (January 11).  LSUE will travel to Pearl River, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Jones, and Hinds in that window as well.

LSUE plays two final conference tune-ups against Dallas-College Cedar Valley (January 16) and Tyler (January 19) at home.

The Bengals defend their back-to-back regular season Louisiana Community Colleges Athletic Conference starting January 27 with a home date against Delgado.  The LCCAC schedule consists of three rounds of round robin play against the Dolphins in addition to Baton Rouge Community College and Southern-Shreveport.

LSUE will play four home LCCAC games, with matchups against Southern-Shreveport (February 6), Baton Rouge (February 13), and Delgado (February 17) to round out the home slate of conference contests.  The Bengals will step outside of LCCAC play on February 1 for the first-ever meeting against Phillips CC in Arkansas.

Coach Beckmann welcomes back two regular starters from last year's team.  Edurne Diaz de la Serna Munoz (Ripollet, Spain, Institut Palau Ausit) is back after scoring 9.6 points per game a season ago, while Aryanna Ridgeway (Nashville, TN, Ezell Harding Christian School) returns after starting all 29 games for the Bengals with 5.3 rebounds per contest.

The Bengals will aim to continue their fast-paced, team-centric style of basketball on the Cajun Prairie.  LSUE finished tops in the nation in steals (19.0) and assists (21.0) per game, while forcing the second most turnovers per contest (21.7) in the nation.
