Box Score NEW ORLEANS -- LSU Eunice's Jaleya Gold likes playing Delgado.  In her two games so far this season she has put up her best numbers of the season.  She scored 22 points last night against the Dolphins in LSUE's 74-65 win.
Gold (Bolton HS) had 22 points, going 10-for-11 from the field and she capped off her double-double with 15 rebounds and two blocks.  Just one week ago, she had her best game of the season against Delgado.  Gold scored 23 points, 18 rebounds and two blocks.
Gold's efforts helped give the Lady Bengals a much-needed win in Miss-Lou Conference play and helped them stay within striking distance of first place.  The girls enter the final round of play in the conference with games against Baton Rouge (February 18), Southern-Shreveport (February 22) and Delgado (February 25).  LSUE is 2-0 against Delgado, 1-1 against Shreveport and 0-2 against Baton Rouge, putting them at 3-3 in the conference.
Against Delgado here Wednesday night, 
Sydney Hayden (Holden HS) and
Gabrielle Harrington (Erath HS) each scored in double digits.  Hayden had 11 points, and Harrington scored 19 points.  
Becca Brooks (Sulphur HS) contributed multiple three-pointers to finish with 9 points, and 
Jazmyn Menina (Mandeville HS) scored 8 points.
LSUE improved to 10-15 on the season, while Delgado fell to 4-15.
