EUNICE, LA -- The LSU Eunice Lady Bengals honored their sophomore players tonight in their final home game of the season and closed out Miss-Lou conference play with a 73-59 win over Delgado.
Delgado (3-17) took an early lead, but the Lady Bengals continued to fight back. The game lead changed hands six times in the first period before LSUE opened up a four-point lead by halftime.
Delgado would close the lead down to 3 points by the end of the third period, but the Lady Bengals outscored the Lady Dolphins 24-13 in the final period to seal the victory. LSUE is now 11-17 (4-5 in Miss-Lou Conference) with one game remaining in the season on the road against Arkansas Baptist (9-19).
For the third straight time against Delgado, Jalyea Gold had a double-double. She finished with 19 points and 19 rebounds. She also recorded three blocked shots.
Gabrielle Harrington (Erath HS) had 14 points and five rebounds, while
Rylie James (Basile HS) scored 13 points. James in 18th in NJCAA in points per game averaging 19.6.
Sydney Hayden (Holden HS) had 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, and
Becca Brooks (Sulphur HS) scored 9 points, all off of three-point baskets.
