Hunter Feduccia (Barbe).
Wharton County (14-26) moved ahead 4-3 with two runs in the top of the seventh begun when Brandon Upton singled, stole second and scored on a hit by Daniel Goss.
Audette singled and scored on a sacrifice by Enrique Sanchez as the Patriots grabbed its second lead of the game.
The Bengals (34-7) tied the game in the bottom of the inning when
Anthony Forte (Conant) singled and scored when
Gavin Bourgeois (Notre Dame) grounded out to third base.
The Bengals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Bourgeois singled, stole third and scored on a hit by Claverie.
Wharton County grabbed a 2-1 advantage in the top of the third when Branson Audette walked and Spencer Griffen homered to left field.
The Bengals answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth when Claverie was hit by pitch Feduccia followed with a home run.
LSUE had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth when
Koi Westbrook (Carencro) reached on an error but was left stranded at third.
Micah McHugh (Zachary) improved to 5-0 on the season with the win as he struck out two, walked one over 1.1 innings.
Starter
Braxton Smith (Orangefield) lasted six innings as he struck out six, walked three and allowed two earned runs on three hits.
Bourgeois (2-for-5, RBI). Claverie (2-for-4 RBI) and Feduccia (2-for-5, 3 RBI) grabbed multiple hits for the Bengals.
LSUE travels to New Orleans Friday for a three game series with Delgado Community College. The Bengals will play a 3 p.m. doubleheader Friday before a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
