Box Score EUNICE, La. - LSU Eunice could not hold down a hot shooting Angelina College squad in an 88-66 season opening setback.
The Roadrunners lived up to their name, racing out to a quick lead. Angelina jumped in front, 28-11, in the first quarter behind 13 points from the frontcourt duo of Natasha Mack and Mia Perkins. AC would stretch their lead to 20 points midway through the second quarter and hold a 47-23 edge at the halftime break.
Claralee Richard (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) paced the Bengals' offense with seven points in the first half.
After intermission, the 6-foot-4 Mack would continue to have her way against LSUE. The sophomore scored eight points in the quarter on her way to a game-high 22 points as the Roadrunners would stretch their lead to as many as 31 points.

Sissy Saucier (Ragley, LA, South Beauregard HS) (15 points),
Bethany Broussard (Iowa, LA, Iowa HS) (12 points) and Richard (10 points) leading the way.
LSUE will be back in action next week at the Coca-Cola Classic on the campus of Southwest Mississippi. The Bengals will play the homestanding Bears on Monday, November at 5:30PM followed by a Tuesday, November 13 matchup against Copiah-Lincoln at 1:00PM.
The Bengals returns home next Saturday, November 17 for a doubleheader against Holmes starting at 6:00PM.
