Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice responded after a streak busting loss Friday to run away from Delgado, 94-69. The Bengals (20-3) became just the fourth team in program history to notch 20 wins in a single season.
The win also helped LSU Eunice secure the school's second MISS-LOU championship in school history.
LSU Eunice led from wire-to-wire using an 11-1 run to close the first quarter and build a double digit lead, 24-11. The Bengals pushed their lead to 19 points at the break thanks to
James bucketed of her team-high 17 points in the first half. The Basile native surpassed Jennifer Hicks for 2
nd all-time in LSUE scoring. The sophomore has 900 points in her Bengals career.
The Bengals would lead by as many as 33 thanks to six players in double figures. Arianna Dargin provided 15 points off the bench while Sissy Saucier, Jaleya Gold, Bethany Broussard and Ja'Naijia Marks also enjoyed productive nights.
Delgado's Kayla Caston led all scorers with 21 points on the night.
LSU Eunice will close out the home portion of the season with Baton Rouge on Wednesday, February 21. The Bengals will honor their five sophomores before the 6:00PM tip-off. The game can be seen live on Bengals All-Access and heard via live audio stream on the Bayou Sports Network.
