MARIANNA, FL - Brent Hebert helped LSU Eunice on the mound and at the plate to secure a 6-4 win over Chipola College.  The Bengals won all three games during their trip to Florida, defeating the Indians twice.
 
Hebert gave LSUE (47-5) its first run of the game with a fourth inning solo home run and pitched a scoreless eighth inning to keep a late charging Chipola squad at bay.  The sophomore also provided a valuable run after a double and was hit in by Andrew Sheridan to give the Bengals a 6-4 edge.
 
The Bengals led by as many as three runs with in the seventh inning after Cameron Horton singled in Hayden Mixon and Nick Bellina scored on a wild pitch to make it a 5-2 game.  Horton and Mixon joined Hebert as Bengals to record multiple hits.
 
After scoring the first run of the game with a third inning fielder's choice, Chipola College answered LSUE's offense when the Bengals scored in the fifth and seventh innings.  Jonathan Nieves and Austin Bates helped the Indians cut the Bengals lead to 5-4 with back-to-back runs from a single and LSUE error.
 
LSUE's two runs in the fifth inning came off a Jacob Richard sacrifice bunt that resulting in an error and Koi Westbrook's sacrifice ground out to short stop.
 
Dane Dixon (4-1) picked up the win after tossing six innings, giving up two runs off four hits.  LSUE threw five relievers, including Landon Clifton who picked up his second save of the weekend.  Clifton's 10th save of the season came after inducing three fly outs.
 
LSU Eunice closes out the regular season with a three game series against Nunez Community College.  The Bengals host a Thursday opener at 6:00PM and a Friday doubleheader starting at 1:00PM.
