Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice rattled off a 31-3 run to pave the way for a 97-79 win over Baton Rouge CC on Saturday inside the HPRE Center. The Bengals (13-3) extended their current win streak to 11 games with the victory.
The win also marked the team's fifth straight over BRCC and 14th consecutive LCCAC victory, dating back to the 2016-17 season.
With the teams deadlocked at 9-9, LSUE went on a 31-3 run that lasted into the second quarter to take a commanding 40-12 advantage. The Bengals would go into the locker rooms up 56-33.
De'Asia Dixon (Shreveport, LA, Huntington HS) led the charge with 12 of her 16 points coming in the first two quarters.
LSUE shot a commanding 21-for-38 (55.2%) from the field in the first half while the Bengals limited BRCC to just 11-for-38 (28.9%).
Claralee Richard (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) would help keep the LSUE charge going after half, scoring 16 of her team's best 19 points after intermission.
Sissy Saucier (Ragley, LA, South Beauregard HS) chipped in 17 points to help LSUE reach the 90-point mark for the 8th time this season.
The defense was also again stellar, forcing 36 turnovers including 19 steals.
Ava Jones (Carencro, LA, Carencro HS) led the Bengals in the defensive department with four steals to go along with 12 points.
Sydney Martin led all scorers with 20 points for Baton Rouge CC.
LSUE will now embark on a three-game road swing beginning Wednesday, February 13 at Southern-Shreveport. The doubleheader with the Jaguars is set for a 5:00PM start.
