Box Score 2 BOSSIER CITY, La. – LSU Eunice split its two-day stay at the Bossier Classic as the Bengals opened up the 2020 portion of the season in north Louisiana this week. It was LSUE's (10-6) fourth and final regular season tournament of the campaign.
The Bengals opened up the Classic, and New Year, with a 75-66 setback to Kilgore College before winning Thursday's contest against Hinds CC, 67-51.
Claralee Richard (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) enjoyed a breakout performance in the pair of games, totaling 30 points and 20 rebounds.
LSUE will stay on the road next week at the Bengals make a return trip to Southern Arkansas Tech on Wednesday, January 8. The Bengals upended the Rockets 100-49 at home on December 16.
Jan. 1 vs. Kilgore College – L, 75-66
LSU Eunice went toe-to-toe with a strong Kilgore College squad but falls late, 75-66. The two teams entered the final frame tied, 52-52, before the Rangers outscored the Bengals 23-14 to close out the game.
The two teams went back and forth throughout, with Kilgore holding a slim 38-35 advantage at halftime.
The Bengals were led by 14 points and 13 rebounds from Claralee Richard. The sophomore was one of four Bengals to record a double-digit point effort.

Jan. 2 vs. Hinds CC – W, 67-51
A big second quarter helped LSUE pull ahead from Hinds CC and never look back, closing out the Bossier Classic with a 67-51 victory. The win helped the Bengals improve to 4-0 this season against Region 23 competition.
The Bengals outscored the Eagles 22-10 in that crucial quarter as LSU Eunice took a 15-point lead into the break.
Claralee Richard stuffed the stat sheet with a 16 point, seven rebound and four block performance. It was the sophomore's tenth double-digit game of the season.
Alona Washington (Gonzales, LA, Ascension Christian HS) was the only other Bengal in double digits with 10 points, while
Trastasia Hester (Houma, LA, Ellender HS) and
Ke'Maesha St. Andre (Oakdale, LA, Oakdale HS) provided a big boost off the bench with eight points each.
