Box Score SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Eunice used a dominant fourth quarter to push past Southern-Shreveport, 79-66, on Saturday at Fair Park High School. The Bengals (19-6, 8-0 LCCAC) won their 27th straight conference game and have now pushed their current win streak to 10 games.
LSUE seemed to be in for its tightest finish in conference play this season, leading 55-51 heading into the fourth quarter. The Bengals would tighten up defensively, allowing just 15 points in the fourth including holding leading scorer Ah'Million Cosby to just six of her game-high 24 points.
Le'Shenae Stubblefield (Delhi, LA, Delhi HS) would shoulder the load for LSUE in the fourth, bucketing 10 of her 19 points.
Stubblefield was one of five Bengals to record a double-digit point game.
Alona Washington (Gonzales, LA, Ascension Christian HS) turned her best statistical scoring night of the season, going for a career-high 21 points. The freshman scored 10 points in the first quarter alone to help LSUE jump ahead to a 40-30 halftime advantage.
Ava Jones (Carencro, LA, Carencro HS) tallied her 21st double-digit point game of the season, including her ninth straight, by pouring in 17 points.
Claralee Richard (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) (11 points) and
Ke'Maesha St. Andre (Oakdale, LA, Oakdale HS) (11 points) capped off the big nights on the scoresheet for LSUE.
The Bengals close out the regular season on Wednesday, February 19 at Delgado CC. The women begin the finale doubleheader at 5:30PM.
