Box Score EUNICE, La. – There was no post-Thanksgiving slumber for LSUE Eunice as the Bengals put up a season-high in points during a 96-55 rout of Coastal Bend on Friday at the HPRE Center. The Bengals (6-5) swept the season series over the Cougars after defeating Coastal Bend in Texas on November 17.
LSUE uses a dominant third quarter to kick start the runaway victory. The Bengals outscored the Cougars 29-3 in the decisive quarter, with a team-laden approach featuring eight different players scoring in the frame.
The sophomore duo of
Tahjea Smith (Texas City, TX, Texas City HS) and
Trinity Harold (Denham Springs, LA, Walker HS) continued to shoulder the load for LSUE, each scoring 16 points.
Josie Ogea (Big Lake, LA, Bell City HS) enjoyed a breakout game, tallying ten points of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, making it her first double-digit point as a Bengal.
In fact, 12 of the 13 Bengals to suit up scored at least a basket in the contest.
The Bengals continue their Lone Star State heavy non-conference slate with a road date on Wednesday at Blinn College.
