Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU Eunice picked up its 37th straight win in conference with a 79-70 road victory at Baton Rouge CC on Thursday. The game was moved a day due to the threat of severe weather in south Louisiana.
LSUE (14-2, 9-0 LCCAC) wasted no time, outscoring BRCC 20-8 in the first quarter. The Bengals' lead would stay in double digits at the half, 38-25, thanks to a breakout performance from
Tanisha Hester (Houma, LA, Ellender HS). The freshman scored 14 of her career best 20 points in the first half including eight in the second quarter.
Hester would pass the baton to
Alona Washington (Gonzales, LA, Ascension Christian HS) after intermission, who scored 16 of her 19 points out of the halftime break.
The Bengals got a balanced effort with five players in double figures including
Trastasia Hester (Houma, LA, Ellender HS) (10 points,
Tahjea Smith (Texas City, TX, Texas City HS) (10 points) and 14 points from
Abigail Lynch (New Caney, TX, New Caney HS) off the bench.
LSUE continues a three game road swing on Saturday with a trip to New Orleans to face Delgado CC.
