Box Score 2 EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball continued its hot start to the season, taking a pair of convincing wins at the Lady Rocket JUCO Classic on the campus of Southern Arkansas University Tech. The Bengals (4-0) have now won all of their opening week games by 20 or more points.
The Bengals turned up the heat in the second halves of each game, defeating Mississippi Delta CC 73-48 on Friday and upended host SAU Tech 67-46 on Saturday. LSUE would have a balanced attack in both games, with more than nine players scoring in each contest.
LSUE continues a season-long eight-game road trip this week with four games in Texas beginning on Wednesday, November 12 at Southwestern Christian College.
Nov. 7 vs Mississippi Delta CC – W, 73-53
LSU Eunice used a dominant third quarter to push past Mississippi Delta CC 73-48 to open the Lady Rocket JUCO Classic. The Bengals outscored the Trojans 26-10 in the deciding quarter.
The Bengals held on to a narrow 35-33 halftime lead before a quick offensive burst put LSUE ahead for good.
Jamiya Woodard (Tulsa, OK, Union HS) led the charge in the third quarter, scoring seven of her ten points in the frame. She was one of four Bengals to score double digit points.
Paulina Reichenauer (Waiblingen, Germany, Salier Gymnasium) added 11 points while
Aryanna Ridgeway (Nashville, TN, Ezell Harding Christian School) and
Reesie Jinks (Grant, LA, Fairview HS) both scored 10 points.
Nov. 8 vs. Southern Arkansas University Tech – W, 67-46
LSU Eunice pulled away late with a strong fourth quarter performance to take down SAU Tech 67-46 in its second game of the Lady Rocket JUCO Classic. The Bengals outscored the Rockets 21-12 in the final frame to produce another comfortable victory.
LSUE kept a slim margin in the first half, taking a 29-21 halftime lead. Aryanna Ridgeway paced the Bengals' offense in the first half, scoring 10 of her team-high tying 14 points before intermission.
It was another balanced effort with nine players scoring, four of which tallied double digit point efforts. Ridgeway was joined by
Edurne Diaz de la Serna Munoz (Ripollet, Spain, Institut Palau Ausit) pouring in 14 points while Reesie Jinks added another 12 points off the bench. Paulina Reichenauer filled up the stat sheet with ten points, six steals, four assists, and three rebounds performance.
Jamiya Woodard led the team with ten rebounds while adding six steals and five assists.
The defense showed up again for the Bengals, totaling 28 steals in the game.
