LSUE Athletics Posts Record Academic Year

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Athletics enjoyed a record-breaking academic year with the recent release of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Student-Athlete and Team Awards.  The Bengals produced 58 All-Academic Student-Athletes for 2024-2025, smashing the previous record of 34 set during the 2021-2022 academic year.
 
LSUE also saw four of its teams receive All-Academic Team of the Year recognition with baseball, softball, men's soccer, and women's soccer all totaling a team GPA over 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
 
"These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of not only our student-athletes, but the entire LSUE community," LSU Eunice athletic director Jeff Willis said.  "From our coaches to our outstanding faculty and staff, everyone's goal is see to every student that walks our halls are successful from the first class to graduation."
 
LSUE Baseball led the way with 23 All-Academic student-athletes, while Softball and Women's Soccer each saw 13 representatives.  Men's Soccer has nine award winners with Women's Basketball's three honorees rounding out the bunch.
 
Eight student-athletes received first-team designation with a 4.00 GPA during the academic year, led by four representatives on the Women's Soccer team.  
 
The Bengals posted a 3.28 grade point average for entire athletic department, including program record GPAs from the Baseball (3.42) and Softball (3.52) teams. 
 
The NJCAA had 13,915 student-athletes honored for achieving a grade point average higher than 3.60 during the 2024-25 academic year.  The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:
                NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
                NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
                NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA
