Box Score EUNICE – The LSU Eunice Lady Bengals picked up their first win of the season with an 80-62 win over Bossier Parish Community College here Saturday.  The Lady Bengals used a dominating third period to move out in front of the Cavaliers (2-2) and improve to 1-3 on the season.
The Lady Bengals lead by one point at halftime.  But early in the third period, Bossier sank a basket to move out in front 35-34.  Then it was all LSUE.  The Lady Bengals went on a 21-3 run that ended the period with LSUE up 55-38. 
Jaleya Gold and 
Rylie James each had four points during the run, and 
Breanna Doucet added a three-pointer.  Gold finished the night with 15 points, and James continues to lead the Lady Bengals in scoring. She scored 17 points.  
Aaliyah Austin had 15 points.
The Lady Bengals started the contest strong with a 15-2 opening run, but Bossier slowly chipped away at the lead and closed the game to within one point with 1:23 left in the half.  LSUE held on to go into the locker room with the 34-33 halftime lead.
LSUE then dominated the second half, and despite Bossier scoring 24 in the fourth period, the Lady Bengals' strong third period was too much for Bossier to overcome.
The Lady Bengals will travel to Angelina College (4-2) in Lufkin, Texas on Tuesday and will return home on the 19th to take on Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (2-1) at 6 p.m.
