EUNICE -- Angelina College used a strong first period and a 35-point fourth quarter to defeat the LSU Eunice Lady Bengals 85-58 here Saturday.  Angelina had previously beaten LSUE 93-49 earlier in the season.

LSU Eunice is now 3-8 on the season.

Angelina (9-3) held LSUE to 5 points in the first period and jumped out to nine point lead after starting with an 8-0 run.  The Lady Bengals matched Angelina in scoring in the second and third period.  Each team scored 15 points in the second and 20 in the third period.  But it was the 35-point fourth quarter that did the Lady Bengals in.  The scored 18 points in the final eight minutes.  Jaleya Gold (Bolton HS) had six points in the fourth period.

Three Lady Bengals scored double digits in the loss.  Rylie James (Basile HS) scored 16 points, Gold had 13 points and Sydney Hayden (Holden HS) scored 12.  Gold also led the team in rounds with eight.

The Lady will host undefeated Patrick Henry Community College (6-0) next week.  On Thursday Patrick Henry and LSUE will play at Louisiana College's Walden Gymnasium. On Friday, December 16, the two teams will play in Eunice.
