Box Score Perkinston, MS -- Gabby Harrington tied her career high 13 points here Monday, but LSU Eunice couldn't close a 10-point Mississippi Gulf Coast lead in time as they fell 58-54.
LSUE (4-12) lead early in the first period but after six lead changes, the Lady Bulldogs (6-4) moved ahead for good, fueled by a 10-0 run late in the first period.
Mississippi Gulf Coast solidified their lead in the third quarter, outscoring LSUE 19-15 points.
The Lady Bengals made a strong comeback in the fourth period, scoring 15 points and closing the Lady Bulldog's lead down to 4 points. But, the comeback fell short as the clock expired.
Harrington (Erath HS) paved the way for LSUE Bengals, making 57 percent of her shots while also sinking 75 percent of her free throws attempted. She tied her career high 13-points that she scored in the Lady Bengal's game earlier this year against Bossier Parish.
Rylie James (Basile HS) also went into double digits, scoring 11 points for Louisiana State University Eunice.
Becca Brooks (Sulphur HS) put up two three-pointers and scored eight points total.
Jaleya Gold (Bolton HS) finished with eight points, six rebounds, and a block, while
Jazmyn Menina (Mandeville HS) had 8 points.
LSU Eunice finished the game with 38 rebounds (15 offensive / 23 defensive).
Sydney Hayden (Holden HS) led the team in rebounds with 8.
The girls will host Arkansas Baptist College (2-14) Saturday, January 14th at 4 p.m.
