Game 5 Preview: San Jacinto College-North

EUNICE, La. – For the first time this season, LSU Eunice will play away from its friendly confines with a date at San Jacinto College-North on Tuesday.  It's the first of ten road games this season.

Tip-off from Nichols Gymnasium in Houston, Texas is scheduled for 6:00PM.

This is a rematch of last Tuesday's 91-57 setback for the Bengals.  It's LSUE's lone loss of the early season.  The Bengals could not overcome a slow start against the Gators, scoring just 19 first half points and shooting 21-for-66 (31.8%) from the field for the game.

"It will be a challenge with this being our first road game of the season," LSU Eunice head coach Amanda Clemons said.  "We did take a couple of long road trips during the preseason, so hopefully that will have our team ready for a different routine away from home."

The duo of Arianna Dargin (Iowa HS) and Rylie James (Basile HS) leads the Bengals early on this campaign.  The local duo has combined for nearly 34 points a game and have helped LSU Eunice race out to a quick start offensively, ranked 32nd in points per game nationally (80.5).

James is on the cusp of history for LSU Eunice.  The Basile High product is only three points away from tying for 5th place on the all-time scoring mark in program history.  Her 608 points is currently 7th on the all-time scoring ledger.

San Jacinto has one win since the Gators came to Eunice.  Alexus Jones scored 21 points for the Gators in a 101-49 win over 903 Elite on Saturday.

San Jacinto owns the all-time record over LSU Eunice, taking 17 of the 26 all-time meetings.  The Gators have won the last seven meetings.  This could be the last time the two programs meet.  San Jacinto elected to disband the women's basketball program following this season.
