Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice stretched its win streak to nine games as the Bengals cruised past Louisiana College's JV in a 98-62 win inside the HPRE Center. The victory gives LSUE 12 wins on the season, a new single-season best under head coach Amanda Clemons.
The Bengals used (12-2) a critical 22-2 run at the start of the 2
nd quarter to stretch a five-point lead to a 25-point advantage.
Rylie James (Basile HS) scored 10 of her game-high 21 points in that span. The sophomore has scored 20-plus points in four of the last six games.
Whitney Landry (Iota HS) added a career's best 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting in 19 minutes of work.
LSUE used that 2
nd quarter spurt to take a 51-37 edge into intermission and used another big run in the third to put away the Wildcats for good. The Bengals closed the third on a 19-6 run to swell the lead to 28 points, 79-51, going in the final frame.
LSUE saw five players in double figures including
Arianna Dargin (Iowa HS) (15 points) and
JaNaijia Marks (DeRidder HS) (11 points) off the bench.
Jaleya Gold's (Bolton HS) 10 points rounded out the high scorers for the Bengals.
A road trip awaits LSU Eunice after the new year. The Bengals travels to Pearl River (January 6) and Mississippi Gulf Coast (January 8) before returning home on January 19 for the start of a two-day set against Lone Star College-Cy-Fair.
