Box Score LUFKIN, TX – Noah Wagner netted his second hat trick of the season as LSU Eunice rolled past Coastal Bend College 5-1. The game was played at Angelina College as a neutral site contest between the Bengals and Cougars.
Wagner (Corpus Christi, TX, Veterans Memorial HS) scored a pair of goals in the first half then the Bengals' eventual capper to pace the onslaught. The freshman put LSUE (7-2-2) first on the board in the 5th minute after burying a clinical back heel assist from
Adrian Franco (Houston, TX, Andy Dekaney HS (TX)). The duo paired up for Wagner's second goal in the 20th minute.
Franco teamed up with
Igor Castillo-Veliz (Baton Rouge, LA, Woodlawn HS) in the 17th minute in between the Wagner goals. Franco finished with a team-high three assists on the evening. An own goal from the Bengals in the 34th minute pushed Coastal Bend to within 3-1.
Axell Fuentes (Bridge City, LA, L.W. Higgins HS (LA)) tallied the last of four first half goals on a counter attack in the 37th minute to give LSU Eunice a 4-1 advantage at intermission.
Sean Jeanfreau (Mandeville, LA, Mandeville HS) kept the Cougars at bay, scooping up six saves on the afternoon while only conceding the own goal.
