SNYDER, Texas – LSU Eunice Men's Soccer suffered its first setback of the season, falling 2-1 at No. 17 Western Texas College on Saturday.  The Bengals (12-1-1) split the season series with the Westerners for the second straight season after LSUE won at home earlier this year.

LSUE was first to strike the scoreboard as
Kei Nagakura (Kanagawa, Japan, Club Med Academies) played a nice give-and-go with
Jose Luis Bustamante (Bogota, Colombia, Colegio Andino), scoring in the 20th minute.

It did not take long for the Westerners to respond as Western Texas would strike for goals in the 25th and 30th minutes, taking that 2-1 lead into the intermission.

The Bengals would get a few great offensive opportunities to try to equalize but could not convert.
Zachary Clary (Pensacola, FL, Tate HS) scooped up five saves in net for LSU Eunice.

The Bengals now await their postseason fate for the upcoming Gulf South District Tournament.  First round action is slated to begin on Saturday, October 28 with the six-team tournament culminating with the Championship game held Friday, November 3.
