TYLER, Texas – LSU Eunice could not hold off an early offensive barrage from Tyler JC as the Bengals fell 5-1 to the Apache at the Pat Harley Complex. The Bengals (5-3-1) head into the final month of the regular season with six games remaining, four coming at home.
LSUE had an opportunity to take an early lead as an errant clearance fell right to
Dillon Trimble (Sugar Land, TX, Stephen F. Austin HS). The sophomore was left alone in the penalty box but a shot on the outer edge sailed wide.
Tyler would push ahead for good with three goals in a 13-minute span midway through the way to take a 3-0 lead at the break. The Apache added a 77th minute goal to put the game out of reach.
Trimble denied the shutout with a 79th minute goal off a
Chris Issa (Beirut, Lebanon, Sagesse Brasilia) assist. The Apache added another to their tally in the 85th.
Landon Sorrell (Monroe, LA, Neville HS) faced 10 shots on target, gathering five saves.
LSUE returns to action on Tuesday, October 1 against Northeast Texas CC for a 6:00PM first kick from the Bengal Soccer Complex.
