EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Softball collected a pair of members on the 2025 Louisiana Sportswriters Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Softball Team, it was announced this week.
Reagan Rios (Longview, TX, Longview HS) was named to the second-team, while
Payton Prince (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) was an honorable mention selection.
It marks the sixth consecutive season LSU Eunice has landed at least one representative on the LSWA All-Louisiana team. Junior College teams were added to the voting in 2019. The LSWA All-Louisiana Team, consisting of all two- and four-year institutions in the state, was voted on by a LSWA panel of media and college sports publicists.
Rios capped off a stellar two-year career for LSU Eunice, serving as the Bengals' ace for a second straight season. The Longview, Texas native went 14-5 in her sophomore campaign with a 2.44 earned run average. She would record 68 strikeouts while tossing five complete games.
The righty hurled an eight-inning complete game shutout of Northwest Florida State and produced a season-high seven strikeouts in a 2-1 extra inning win over Galveston College, both nationally ranked Division I teams.
Rios etched her name in the LSUE record books, finishing Top 10 all-time in earned run average (8th), wins (9th), innings pitched (9th) and strikeouts (7th).
Prince continues an impressive award haul after being named NFCA First-Team All-South Region and NFCA Second-Team All-American earlier this month. The Sulphur HS product started 46 of the 49 games she played during her freshman campaign, all in centerfield. Prince set the table for the LSUE offense, leading off and going on to lead the team in home runs (13), runs batted in (44), runs scored (52), stolen bases (49), slugging percentage (.747), on base percentage (.475), and total bases (112). Her 13 home runs are the most in a single season under Collins and rank 11th all-time in LSUE single-season history.
The Sulphur HS product produced 19 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games. She accounted for five RBIs in a two-home run game against National Park College on March 15.
In the field, the everyday center fielder finished the 2025 season with .976 fielding percentage, including six assists and 74 putouts while having a hand in a pair of double plays.
LSUE finished the 2025 season with a 40-12 record, spending the entirety of the year in the NJCAA Division II Top 25 poll.
