EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Men's Soccer could not overcome a slow start, falling to Blinn College 2-1 at home on Saturday. The Bengals (5-3-1) dropped to 3-3-1 in conference play.
The Buccaneers took an early lead, scoring a goal in the 20th minute off a breakaway by Blinn. The Bucs would add the eventual game winner in the 63rd minute.
The Bengals put up a fight late, with
Juan José Ricaurte (Cali, Columbia, Los Andes Schools) capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 74th minute. It was his second penalty kick goal of the season.
LSUE was outshot 15-7, while Blinn also won the corner kick battle 4-1.
William Panter (Northampton, England, Campion School) and
Josh Barrow (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS) split time in net, Panter making one first half save and Barrow snagging two in the second half.
The Bengals aim to rebound as they close out a season-long four-game homestand on Tuesday, October 7 against Angelina College. LSUE and the Roadrunners take to the Bengal Soccer Complex field at 7:00PM.
