SCOOBA, Ms. –
Roko Rojevcan (Killarney, Ireland, St. Brendan's College) produced a hat trick to help LSUE cruise to another early season win, shutting out East Mississippi CC in a 6-0 win on Friday. The Bengals (4-0) notched their third clean sheet of the early season.
LSUE wasted little time getting on the board with
Marven Romario Michel (Saint-Constant, Quebec, Canada, Longueuil College Francais) getting in on the offensive action in the third minute. The center back moved up the field on the offensive surge, taking a perfectly place through ball into the box by
Cian Lane (Birmingham, England, Homeschool) with Michel finishing with a strong boot to score his second goal of the year.
Rojevcan kicked off a career night just three minutes later, scoring the first of a hat trick for the sophomore. Rojevcan lasered a volley for his first tally of the night, adding another goal in the 14th minute. Cian Lane pushed across the fourth goal of the half a few minutes later using one of two
Juan Arrieta (Bogotá, Colombia, Colegio Americano de Bogotá) assists to make it a 4-0 LSUE advantage at halftime.
Rojevcan finished off the hat trick in the early moments of the second half, flicking a beautiful front post header on an Arrieta corner kick.
Arnold Cruz (Monroe, LA, Neville HS) finished the scoring in the 52nd minute, capitalizing on a bad clearance to beat the keeper on a breakaway.
William Panter (Northampton, England, Campion School) and
Josh Barrow (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS) combined for the shutout with Panther notching one save in the first half while Barrow finished out the game with three second half stops.
LSUE heads back to conference play next week with a weekend road trip to Tyler JC and Jacksonville College.
